부산인디커넥트페스티벌, TPGS 2024에 K-인디게임을 선보이다

부산광역시(시장 박형준)와 (사)부산인디커넥트페스티벌 조직위원회(이하 BIC 조직위원회, 조직위원장 서태건)는 부산인디커넥트페스티벌(이하 BIC 페스티벌) 2023의 전시작품 중 4개작을 오는 1월 25일부터 28일까지 4일간 대만 타이페이에서 열리는 타이페이게임쇼 2024(이하 TPGS 2024)에 참가할 예정임을 밝혔다.

TPGS 2024에 참가하는 4개 작품은 대한민국을 대표하는 글로벌 인디게임 축제인 BIC 페스티벌 2023에서 선정된 우수 전시작품으로, 일반부문 2개작(▲삐요스튜디오의 '길고양이 이야기2', ▲ 스튜디오 안의 '고스티드')과 루키부문 2개작(▲와이즌의 '여우는 오늘도 친구를 구한다', ▲이클립스 스튜디오의 'Let Me Out')으로 구성되어 있다. BIC 페스티벌은 이들과 함께 글로벌 인디게임 시장에서 K-인디게임의 위상을 높일 예정이다.

TPGS 2024의 B2C Zone(부스번호 B24)에서 BIC 페스티벌 2023 일반부문 선정작 ‘길고양이 이야기2’, 캐주얼 부문 수상작 ‘고스티드’, 루키 부문 선정작 ‘여우는 오늘도 친구를 구한다’, 그리고 라이징 스타 노미네이트작 ‘Let Me Out’까지 총 4개의 작품을 만나볼 수 있다. 

서태건 BIC 조직위원장은 "수년간 끈끈한 글로벌 파트너인 ‘타이페이 컴퓨터협회’가 주관하는 TPGS에 올해도 K-인디게임을 선보일 수 있게 되어서 기쁘다."며 “K-인디게임에 관심이 있는 관람객들에게도 소중한 시간이 되기를 기대한다. 국내 인디게임 개발사들과 함께 BIC 페스티벌을 알리면서, 한국 인디게임의 다양성과 우수성 또한 널리 알릴 수 있는 기회가 될 것.”이라고 전했다. 

한편, 올해 10회를 맞이할 예정인 BIC 페스티벌은 2015년부터 매년 부산에서 열리는 글로벌 인디게임 축제로, 인디게임을 발굴하며 인디게임의 질적 향상을 도모하고 있다. 지난 해 8월 개최된 BIC 페스티벌 2023에서는 전 세계 22개국에서 203개의 작품이 전시되었으며, 이 중에서 선정된 전시작을 TPGS 2024에서 다시 한번 만나볼 수 있다.

Busan Indie Connect Festival presents K-Indie games at TPGS 2024

Busan Metropolitan City(Mayor Park Heongjoon) and Busan Indie Connect Festival Organizing Committee (Chairman Seo Taegun, hereinafter referred to as the BIC Organizing Committee) announced that they will participate in the Taipei Game Show 2024 (TPGS 2024) held in Taipei, Taiwan, for four days from January 25 to 28 with 4 entries of BIC Festival 2023.

The four games for TPGS 2024 were selected as outstanding works at BIC Festival 2023, Korea's leading global indie game festival. Two games from General Division, ▲PPIYO STUDIO's ‘A Street Cat’s Tale 2’, ▲Studio Ahn's ‘Ghosted’ and also two games from Rookie Division, ▲wisen's ‘The Fox Seeks Friends', ▲EclipseStudio's ‘LetMeOut’) are the ones. BIC Festival plans to raise the status of K_indie games in the global indie game market with them.

We can find 4 games. Selected works from the General Division, ‘A Street Cat’s Tale 2’, prizewinning game from the Excellence in Casual, ‘Ghosted’, selected work from the Rookie Division, ‘The Fox Seeks Friends' and ‘LetMeOut’, which was nominated for the Rising Star Award. 

The chairman of the BIC Organizing Committee, Seo Taegun said, "We are glad to have another chance to introduce K_Indie games to TPGS, organized by Taipei Computer Association, a global partner of many years," adding, “We hope it will be a valuable time for visitors interested in K_indie games. This event will be an opportunity to promote the diversity and excellence of Korean indie games while promoting BIC festivals with domestic indie game developers.”

BIC Festival, which celebrates its tenth this year, is a global indie game festival held in Busan every year since 2015, which discovers indie games and seeks ways to improve the quality of indie games. At the BIC Festival 2023, held in August last year, 203 works from 22 countries around the world were exhibited, and you can find the selected works once again at TPGS 2024.
